I’ve been trying very hard to force myself to knit so that I can enjoy knitting again. I’m filling my head with project ideas to make it easier and I’m in love again. I’ve finished two hats and I’m almost done with another. I got my yarn pile from loveknitting.com. I’m so ready!
First FO of the year!
Seams to weave in 😐
And current ongoing, yearlong project:
Another shot since I’m in love with this blanket:
My goal this year is also to do a lot of Charity knitting. Hopefully I’ll keep going this year! Last year, I kind of fell off the wagon… Until next time!
So I totally meant to post my finished projects on Friday but I did not have time because I ended up at a partayyyyyy (yay). But I’m gonna post them here because I’m happy I have two new cowls! My seaming abilities are still terrible but they’re pretty easy to cover up with cowls so that’s alright. Here they are!
This is a twisted cowl I made from leftover wool/acrylic blend yarn. I made it a month ago and decided to sew it together yesterday.
This is another cowl I made a few weeks back that no needed to finish. I did such a terrible job with the finishing work but its not noticeable when the cowl is on. I love the mixed colors! I wanted to edit my fashion sense now that I’ve entered my twenties to be more trendy and girly and less tomboy/hipster-esque. And these are awesome pieces to start with!
I wear skirts and dresses a lot so I rarely have a reason to wear pants unless I’m bumming out. I want to kill the long granny skirts this year and wear more midi stuff this year. I need to go back to my boho and maxi skirt days!
And I’m working on some knit stuff for kids! Stay tuned my room will be filled with kiddie hats this week!
Guys. I have sweater fever. I just finished that sweater with the cables. I searched long and hard for the pattern I based my finished product off of and I found it! Its the Super Birthday Sweater. Its my favorite raglan sweater pattern by far because its so easy to make adjustments. Look it up on ravelry!
Anyways, about my sweater fever. My mom wants a sweater now so I am working on one for her. Then I will want one! This is going to be insane. I’m gonna be a super grandma at the age of 20 and I don’t even care. Here’s the start of my moms sweater. She wants a turtleneck which is a change to the pattern. I’m also gonna delete waist shaping. I’m excited! Its her anniversary present!
Yup! I tried to get my dad to give me an idea of what he would like and he shrugged. I think men are impossible to knit for. My dad doesn’t do hats so that won’t work. I’ll just make him a nice sandwich 😛
I also want to make myself a cute skirt. That is on my list too. And I have three hat orders I should totally start……
Wow I have done a terrible job at keeping up with finished objects!! I am so sorry. However, I just wanted to post my finished sweater!
Here’s the beauty! Where’s my humility. Gah!! It took me two months to complete. Thankfully, the customer was patient and she positively loved it. I tried it on and I was so very scared about it. It looked so terrible on me! But somehow, she tried it on and it was perfect! Which was bizarre because we seem so close in body type! Whatever. She loves it. I’m done. New super long project time baby!!!!!!!
In order to force myself to accomplish something with this blog, every Friday I will post some of the many projects I’m working on! I have a sweater, some blankets and baby knitwear to finish up this week. I’m exciting to be knitting so much but I’m Aldo tired. I want to paint something this month before I turn 20.
A friend of mine commissioned me to knit her a cream colored sweater. Its been rough. I apparently have ten shades of cream so the top part is a little off. Fortunately, as part of the sweater this looks like some design or something!
Look at those cables 😉 I hope to make my mom a sweater just like this is black (hopefully she’ll choose a more exciting color).
Baby knits! I know a lot of little kids in my kingdom hall who need warmth. Hand crafted warmth. So hopefully I can cough up some hats and scarves for them before this month is over!
And of course, for winter I need a nice blanket. And I definitely need to finish my lavender baby blanket for my cousin…. Before the baby arrives….
Well, hopefully that sweater will be done by next Friday!
I’ve made several attempts to start my knitting blog.
Well everyone, September 22, 2014 is the day.
So my life lately. I’ve received many, many orders lately which, don’t get me wrong, is absolutely fantastic!!! I have the opportunity to try new things (I’m making my first set of mittens). I found this awesome pattern for a headband. It’s all pretty cool.
However, i haven’t gotten a chance to finish up my post brain surgery blanket (sadness) and work on the blanket for my cousin who is about to have a baby. Hopefully, I can become better at managing my time and resources so I can work on the projects I adore also!!!
So that pretty headband:
This is a headband for my aunt. She showed me a picture of the headband she wanted and I just scoured the web for a match and Dee Dee Dee! I found it. Here’s the link for downloading the pattern if you’re interested!
